Synopsis

Genre: Contemporary, Modern Classic, Thriller, Literary Fiction

520 pages

“Beauty is terror. Whatever we call beautiful, we quiver before it.”

P.S. Lot’s of Tumblr like aesthetic coming your way

The story is unlike any mystery I have ever read, enticed by the idea of why the murder took place as opposed to who did it. The popularity of the book is almost similar to the plot, in that you feel left out if you haven’t read it and the obsession surrounding it will make you pick up the book so as to understand why everyone freaking loves it.

Winter Book Recommendations

“Winter is coming.”
George R.R. Martin, A Game of Thrones

Hey, fellow readers lovely to see you and hope life is being kind, today’s post is inspired by Cormac McCarthy’s The Road (Review) and that is currently winter in some places abroad but 1000 degrees in Nairobi. I really can’t stand the mosquitoes and the uncomfortable heat, the rainy season needs to get here sooner before my skin actually melts.

“There’s nothing wrong with reading a book you love over and over. When you do, the words get inside you, become a part of you, in a way that words in a book you’ve read only once can’t.”

In this post today we are going to tackle the books I will be revisiting this year (hopefully) because I want to familiarise myself with the book, so as to continue with the series or just get back to the world I once enjoyed. Last year I reread 5 books and the harry potter series and let me tell you it was so delightful.

Happy New Year fellow readers and I hope it will be a prosperous one that will come with tonnes of new books, blogger friends and just all-around positivity. Yes, we all dwelled so much on the negative (at least some of us) that we didn’t take a few minutes to reflect on the amazing little trinkets life had to offer.

My Top 9 Best Books of 2016 #books #favourite

Processed with VSCO with a5 preset

So, it’s the 26th of December and the year is almost done, it’s about that time I reflect on my reading and life in general. Most of the people out there dreaded 2016, it became such a cursed year and it felt like the world was coming to an end(literally). Like most people, I wasn’t particularly a big fan but I chose to magnify the positive aspects in my life. Yes, I may not have been the most successful person this year but I started this blog and it became a platform in which I could collect my feelings about books and meet new people and that was just delightful. I got so many recommendations even the occasional Hello! made my day. This year I won a book (and I never win anything), I wrote a review for one of my favourite reads and the author of that book read it and gave me a positive feedback…

2016 Honourable Mentions (Favourite Books-Edition) #RunnersUp

It’s that time of the year where the majority of blogs will bombard you with favourites and try to convince you to try out various Blogs, Music, Books and all other things that made it for them in 2016. I have to admit that I thoroughly enjoy this sort of post because it’s always a treat to see people genuinely excited about things and I am more inclined to pick up something if it comes highly recommended. Regardless, this post is just close to the favourite list in which I am going to speak about books that were amazing but didn’t make it to the TOP LIST, so stick around and prepare to be introduced to the HONORABLE MENTION BOOKS that should be on your shelves.
